The headliners, and the reason the festival exists. The Mersey Hounds play full-throttle Chicago blues — stinging Telecaster, wailing harp and a rhythm section that swings like a wrecking ball.

Born on the Wirral, schooled on Maxwell Street, they close the night with a set built for the river: loud, joyous and just a little bit unhinged. Ferry home optional.
